
North East Uganda Trip
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, meet & greet by your driver guide and proceed to accommodation about 7 minutes away:
Dinner and Overnight at Secrets Guest House
Day 2: Bird Mabamba Swamp
Early breakfast and then with packed lunch proceed to Mabamba Wetlands where you will be paddled in a canoe through the swamp, looking for the mighty Shoebill and other birds like Pink-backed Pelican, Long-tailed Cormorant, Squacco Heron, Yellow-billed Duck, Malachite Kingfisher, Long-toed Plover, Blue-headed Coucal, Blue-breasted Bee-eater etc, bird your way back to Entebbe looking out for birds like African open billed Stork, Grey Kestrel, African Green Pigeon, Great Blue Turaco, Ross’s Turaco, Red-headed Lovebird, Swifts, Sunbirds, Weavers, Finches among others. Overnight at Secrets Guest House.
Day 3: Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
After breakfast, proceed for the drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary getting there in the early afternoon in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for the Rhino walk getting back to the lodge in time for a hot shower and dinner.
Dinner and over night at Amuka Lodge.
Day 4: Bird in the Sanctuary.
Today you with bird the sanctuary looking out for birds like Black-crowned Night-Heron, Shoebill, Ducks, Raptors, African Green Pigeon, Cuckoos, African Scops-Owl, Nightjars, Greater Honeyguide, Woodpeckers, Cuckoo-shrikes, Chats, Crombecs, Green-backed Eremomela, Cisticola, Tits, Sunbirds, Shrikes, Orioles, Starlings, Weavers, Finches among others.
Dinner and over night at Amuka Lodge.
Day 5: Bird to Masindi.
Breakfast and then head out for morning birding coming back in time for lunch before birding your way to Masindi look out for birds like African open billed Stork, Grey Kestrel, White crested Turaco, African Green Pigeon, Great Blue Turaco, Ross’s Turaco, Red-headed Lovebird, Swifts, Sunbirds, Weavers, Finches among others.
Overnight at Masindi Hotel.
Day 6: Bird the Royal Mile ( Budongo Forest)
After an early breakfast, we will proceed to bird the Royal Mile looking out for birds like African Crowned Eagle, Heuglin’s Francolin, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Chocolate-backed Kingfisher, Dwarf Kingfisher, White-thighed Hornbill, Speckled Tinkerbird, Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Yellow-crested Woodpecker, Brown-eared Woodpecker, Little Grey Greenbul, Cameroon Sombre Greenbul, Spotted Greenbul, Fire-crested Alethe, Red-tailed Ant-thrush, Rufous-crowned Eremomela, Whistling Cisticola, Black-throated Apalis, Forest Flycatcher, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher, Western Black-headed Oriole, Purple-headed Starling among others. In the afternoon we head back to the Lodge in time for Lunch.

Day 7: Bird to Murchison Falls NP
After breakfast with your lunch and luggage, bird to Murchison Falls via Kanio Pabidi, top of the falls. here the Nile waters force through a narrow gap, creating a magnificent view of the falls from the top. Look out for birds like Raptors, Rock Pratincole, Crested Francolin, White-headed Barbet, Narina Trogon, Red-throated Bee-eater, Rufous-sided Broadbill, Silverbird, Red-cheeked Cordon blue, Waxbills, Finches, Sunbirds, Canaries among others.

Day 8: Game Drive and Boat
After an early breakfast, proceed for a game drive getting back in time for lunch. After lunch, transfer to Paraa northern bank for the boat trip up to the bottom of the Falls, and it is possible to view hundreds of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird life. Look out for birds like Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Black-headed Plover, Rock Pratincole, Swallow-tailed Bee-Eater, Red-throated Bee-eater, Black-billed Barbet, Spotted Morning Thrush, Speckle fronted Weaver, White-browed Sparrow Weaver and more. Look out for mammals like the graceful Roth child Giraffe, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Uganda Kob, Defassa Waterbuck, Buffaloes, Elephants, Warthog, Hippos, Oribi and when lucky a leopard and Lion among others.
Dinner and overnight at Kabalega Wilderness.
Day 9: Bird to Kitgum.
After breakfast with your packed lunch, bird your way to Kitgum looking out for birds like African open billed Stork, Grey Kestrel, African Green Pigeon, Great Blue Turaco, Ross’s Turaco, Red-headed Lovebird, Swifts, Sunbirds, Weavers, Finches among others.
Dinner and Overnight at Travice Motel.
Day 10: Drive to Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast, proceed for the drive to Kidepo Valley National Park birding en-route looking out for birds like Clapperton’s Francolin, Woodland Kingfisher, Spot-flanked Barbet, Swallows, Cisticolas, Sunbirds, Shrikes, .
Dinner and overnight at UWA Bandas.
Day 11: Bird Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast we’ll look for a rich diversity of birds and other African wildlife, in addition to looking for some localized specials such as Yellow-necked Spurfowl, White-bellied Bustard, Rose-ringed Parakeet, White-bellied Go-away-bird, Rufous-crowned Roller, Abyssinian Scimitarbill, Red-billed Hornbill, Jackson’s Hornbill, d’Arnaud’s Barbet, Singing Bush Lark, Cliff Chat, Red-pate Cisticola, Karamoja Apalis, Hunter’s Sunbird, Yellow-billed Shrike, White-headed Buffalo-Weaver, White-billed Buffalo-Weaver, Eastern Paradise-Whydah among others. Look out for mammals like the graceful Giraffe, Uganda Kob, Defassa Waterbuck, Buffaloes, Elephants, Warthog, and when lucky a Lion among others.

Day 12: Second day birding Kidepo
A full day of birding and game drives in Uganda’s most remote and beautiful to the few people making the journey there. We’ll look for a rich diversity of birds and other African wildlife, in addition to looking for birds like Clapperton’s Francolin, White-bellied Go-away-bird, Rufous-crowned Roller, Abyssinian Scimitarbill, Black-breasted Barbet, Pink-breasted Lark, Cliff Chat, Red-pate Cisticola, Yellow-billed Shrike, Northern White-crowned Shrike, Superb Starling, among others.

Day 13: Drive to Entebbe
Today we embark on a long journey to Entebbe, however if you do not want the long drive,there are flights from Kidepo to Entebbe. Should you prefer to fly to Entebbe kindly notify us so that we adjust itinerary and costing accordingly.
Overnight at Secrets Guest House.
Day 14: Departure
After breakfast, drive to Entebbe bird as you wait for the flight to Entebbe International Airport.
